The application analyzes your hardware and recommends the local AI models best suited to your system.

Each financial account must begin with one of the following prefixes.

These categories help Net Worth Ledger organize what you own and what you owe.
The + / − column is filled in automatically based on the prefix assigned to each account.
Asset accounts are classified as positive values, while debts and liabilities are classified as negative values.

Simply press Alt+A (Data > Column (Snapshot) > Add New) and fill in the dialog box that appears.

Yes. You can edit the values directly in the table cells.
You can also right-click the table to add or delete columns, delete rows, and access other editing options.

Yes. Check the Protected option to reveal the Password field, where you can enter your desired password. From then on, every time you save the table, it will be encrypted using that password, and you will need to enter it again to open the file.

CRITICAL: Please keep your password in a safe place. If lost, the table cannot be recovered.

Yes, click on Data/User profile and fill in the dialog box that appears.

To do this, you need to download and install Ollama, along with one or more AI models suited to your PC’s capabilities.
The model acts as the “brain” running directly on your computer.
It can analyze your financial situation and provide guidance locally, even without an internet connection.

Click Receive advice (AI) / Using local models (private) / Get advice.
If you don’t have Ollama installed, Net Worth Ledger will download and install it for you.
Once Ollama—and the model you choose to use—is installed, this menu item will generate your prompt and offer suggestions on how to improve your financial situation.

Click Receive advice (AI) / Using local models (private) / Models / Recommended, and Net Worth Ledger will display a list of models tailored to your PC’s hardware.
Select your preferred model and install it using the menu item located right below this one.

Once Ollama and your chosen model are installed, click Receive advice (AI) / Using local models (private) / Get advice.
A dialog box will appear with a question automatically prepared to analyze your financial situation.
Click the Play button to receive the AI’s response.
You can also replace the prepared question by entering anything you want in the Question box.
You can ask the model about economics, planning, technology, general-interest topics, and many other subjects.
The quality of the answers will depend on the capabilities and knowledge of the installed model.
For important medical, legal, or financial decisions, use its responses only as general guidance and consult a qualified professional.
Your local model can become a versatile private assistant running directly on your computer.
